The Big Duck is a ferrocement building in the shape of a duck located in Flanders, New York, on Long Island. It was originally built in 1931 by duck farmer Martin Maurer in nearby Riverhead, and used as a shop to sell ducks and duck eggs. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1997. It is a principal building on the Big Duck Ranch, listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2008.

It's a big duck! This one room duck is a staple to visit if you're in the area. You can pick up Big Duck memorabilia inside as well. Fun fact: The eyes in this duck are of a Model T Ford tail lights!
MoreIt was an amazing trip to the historical Duck. I did not know this was a farm the original duck came here from China (Peking duck). Mrs. young told us all about it. She loves History.
MoreDrove all the way to the Big Duck to be told they were closing at 4:15 when it was supposed to be closed at 5. Such a disappointment and not worth the drive. Be sure to call before you go
