Scholz Garten (also known as Scholz Beer Garden) is a beer garden and restaurant in downtown Austin, Texas and the oldest operating business in Texas. Established by German immigrant August Scholz in 1866 after the American Civil War, Scholz Garten became a hub for German immigrants and their culture in the capital city. It was purchased by The Saengerrunde Club in 1914, who still owns it today.

The staff is nice. The food is good but not great. The prices are decent. It's a very social place where you can go alone and not feel like it.
MoreOrder from menu. Saturday game day brunch has limited menu and pre made quality is at best adequate. Can't go wrong with the bier. Ich liebe!
MoreBest giant pretzel ever great brats and sauerkraut and amazing beer cheese and garlic butter. Plenty of seating and outdoor area seating.
