This popular animal-themed light and lantern display returns to the zoo starting Nov. 18. See 360 lanterns representing almost 90 animal and plant species from around the globe. This year, 70 new lanterns representing 30 new animal species will make their debut at the zoo. Also new this year is an enhanced light show for dazzling photo-ops, a holiday tree show that features synchronized musical lights, and a walk through an animal-themed Light Tunnel for more light shows.

The Bronx Zoo's Treetop Adventure and Nature Trek, which is home to a couple of ziplines, reopened August 7. Tickets must be reserved and purchased online in advance, masks are required at all times, and you must practice social distancing. Spanning more than 400 feet in each direction, the pair of ziplines travel 50 feet above the Bronx River, with the platform for the zip back even higher than the initial launch pad. The zipline is outfitted with dual, side-by-side lines for double fun.

In a city filled with zoos, this is the big one! Top spots for kids are the Children's Zoo within the zoo, and Nature Trek, a kid-friendly version of the adult-size Tree Top Adventure here. And don't miss the Bug Carousel. Other must-sees are the Congo Gorilla Forest, Bird of Prey and Aquatic Birds, the African Plains, Baboon Reserve and World of Reptiles. Pay extra, and you can even go for a camel ride here!
