About
Hunting Island is a 5,000-acre secluded semitropical barrier island located 15 miles east of Beaufort, South Carolina, United States in between Harbor Island and Fripp Island. Since 1935, it has been classified as a state park. It is the most-visited state park facility in South Carolina and is a part of the ACE Basin estuarine reserve area. Known for its natural environment, the island remains one of the few remaining undeveloped Sea Islands in the Lowcountry.

This is a must do for any people that visit this area and love the outdoors. The hiking trails are beautiful and easy to navigate. There's a nice beach there, as well.
Had a great time there off-season, the tent camping sites are fairly large and in good condition, but not at all private; bathrooms were in good condition and kept clean (at least with a light occupan
Beautiful park. Only real criticism is the poor quality of the trail map (worst park trail map we've encountered in our travels across the country). And lack of any really clearly marked trailheads.
