The chicken and mushroom version is the one you’ll think about days later, though you should also sneak in the fried chicken wings—crunchy, juicy, with a salted toasted finish. Congee is another sleeper hit, especially the crispy carp version with a cartilage crunch that’ll have you digging in the bowl for every last morsel. Inside, the restaurant is brightly lit and feels a bit like an upscale cafeteria, but between the generous portions, low prices, and frosty Hong Kong-style milk tea, the food would shine in any setting.
