The gravitational pull that a good coffee shop has on us should be studied. Frothee’s pull is the kind that gets us to King’s Cross from across the city just for an iced matcha. But it’s not just any matcha. This cool Caledonian Road spot has everything from a sweet iced Spanish number to an Earl Grey matcha latte, to different flavoured cold foams (we like the salted vanilla). Despite all the bells and whistles, this spot is the real deal. Matcha is meticulously weighed and whisked fresh, and the consistency lives up to the cafe’s name—yes, it’s nice and frothy. There are plenty of tables at which to sit and sip after you’re done filming the satisfying matcha pour. Our first choice is the stools by the big window, but if we’re planning to whip out a laptop and get some work done, the round tables or the big sharing table downstairs is the better option.
