Located in downtown Hamburg, this boutique hotel is located inside a restored office building, and some of its original mid-century modern décor remains. It’s Mad Men-esque, but with a contemporary German twist; with no secretaries around, you’ll make your own espresso, and in lieu of martinis and wedge salads in the evening, there’s Abendbrød, a light evening meal based around seasonal ingredients. Guest rooms are as smartly furnished as you’d expect, but thoroughly practical, with cozy seating areas and nicely equipped coffee stations.
