Sometimes dining choices are motivated by superficial things (no judgement, Atlanta). With a suave space and photogenic sushi rolls, Buckhead’s NoriFish understands that without compromising on the things that make customers want to come back: really great food. The popular Japanese restaurant in Sandy Springs opened this second location in the old Prefecture (the omakase-style steak restaurant from the same team that made our best steakhouses guide). Inside, blackout windows and barely there lighting makes the space feel like a secret. And it kind of is—since the place is often relatively empty. But we doubt it’ll be that way for long if they keep things up. The wagyu sliders with an over-easy quail egg (a holdover from Prefecture) are a menu standout. And their buttery nigiri puts high-priced omakase restaurants to shame. And of course, several orders of maki rolls should be on your table because: A. they show up catwalk-ready for a tableside photoshoot and B. rolls like the hotate aburi make simple seared scallops and crunchy fried quinoa metamorphosize into something dream-worthy.
