Uchi’s little sister restaurant in Plano is fun and spirited, adding some Texas smoke and fire to the elegant Japanese flavors. There’s a 10-course chef’s omakase, but we love the somakase, where your server will work within your budget and your preferences to create a meal of sashimi, rolls, and cold and hot tastings. If you’re going a la carte, the Hama Chili is a must, with yellowtail, ponzu, thai chili, and oranges, while The Hot Rock will momentarily make your table the center of attention as you sizzle and sear your own buttery wagyu slices.
