William R. Steinhaus Dutchess Rail Trail

About

The Dutchess Rail Trail is a 13-mile rail trail that stretches from the former Hopewell Junction train depot, north to the Poughkeepsie entrance of the Walkway over the Hudson. It's a shared use rail trail open for pedestrians and bicyclers. Construction was initially set to begin in July 2007. Three of its four phases are open making for a 2.5 mile stretch from Morgan Lake in the Town of Pougheepsie to Overocker Road, and an 8.2 mile stretch from HG Page Hardware to Hopewell Junction.
