Outside every Dan and John’s location, there’s a neon sign that says “buffalo wings by Buffalo guys.” And while they’ve got some snacky bar food on the menu, take their advice. This is a place to eat wings. Make sure they’re bone-in, and of at least medium heat (they only really start getting hot at “hot”). They stay crispy for hours, the wings are nice and juicy, and their sauce is classic, buttery, and acidic. While their original East Village location has closed, they’ve still got several locations for great wings—including this one in DeKalb Market Hall. Ordering 10 big, juicy, crunchy wings for $20 works great for lunch. If you’re hosting on a football Sunday, they offer wing kits as well—just make sure to get your orders in early.
