We love walking down the long hallway of Portuguese-inspired Bar Henrietta—the smell of their generous bifana and coiled grilled sausages wafts out of the kitchen of this two-level wine bar on swish Laurier West. The aromatic gin and pine liqueur cocktail and a bowl of the Manchego-dusted popcorn with pimentón is a good way to start off. But afterwards, go with the affordable wines by the glass and bottle—they’re frequently local, and there are some revelatory Québec and Ontario wines (a pinot noir from L’Espiègle was a recent hit).
