Giant plumes of smoke billow out of the back of this small Buford Highway Mexican restaurant and the smell of roasted chicken cuts through the parking lot, serving as their calling card. Walk through the front door and the tiny dining room is in a constant state of movement. There’s a line at the counter for takeout orders and servers flitting around carrying trays of fish tostadas and tasty giant quesadillas (stuffed so full of steak, lettuce, and melty cheese they’re more like sandwiches). But the main reason we come to El Autentico Sinaloense Pollos Asados is for the whole grilled chicken. It’s bathed in lime for a pleasantly citrusy finish, has a smoky char, and comes out in a container with fragrant smoke escaping out the sides. It’s a sweet deal—for $30 you get an entire chicken plus a salad, rice, beans, corn tortillas, and salsas. It’s enough food to feed a whole family or, you know, just yourself.
