Among Capitol Hill’s late-night Korean food options, Seoul Mates may not be a first choice, but acts as a solid backup. Crispy little snacks like truffle parmesan fries and lacy pork dumplings are satisfying chased with cold beer. Sizzling kal-bi-jjim is an antidote to whatever heinous weather crime might be happening outside. And we’re also fans of the fried rice, flanked by a layer of skillet-seared egg. With clubby tunes and marble tables, Seoul Mates has partytime potential, especially given the rainbow neon and upscale metal dinnerware. Just don’t expect a particularly raucous crowd to match.
