When you want a martini, go to The Davenport. Crammed into a nondescript corner off Richmond, this little lounge offers 48 martinis on the menu, most of which contain schnapps, chocolate, or flavored vodka. One sugar-loaded martini even gets a gummi bear garnish. The whole place feels like it sprung from the post-millennium-crazed 2003 with bubblegum-colored drinks and hot pink walls. But it feels like some kind of illicit no-name bar where the only things that matter are you and your cocktail. Especially when the bartender pours a drink right in front of you with only the slightest hint of flair. And even though this menu features martinis at their most unhinged level, The Davenport is a calm sea of regular folks knocking back impractical glassware and chatting about sports or groceries like they would at any local dive.
