We all know and love Glide Pizza for their giant NY-style slices and easy-access walk-up window just off the Beltline. This Decatur location offers those same slices and whole pies, but they have the added allure of a full bar and retro pizza parlor digs. While we’re accustomed to eating Glide to-go, here, we’re happy to slide into a bright red booth and watch our table disappear beneath the 20-inch white garlic pie. Just look elsewhere for your candle-lit, romantic pizza date night. This is a good, old nostalgic pizza night. Kids in shin guards and soccer jerseys dart in between tables as they race towards the back arcade room. Groups of overtired parents guzzle $14 pitchers of PBR and tear into zesty lemon pepper wet wings. Glide is Decatur’s not-so-secret family hangout because it has something both parents and kids can agree on: really good pizza.
