You can generally forgive beer gardens for having subpar food—you’re there to get drunk off an obscure German pilsner and soak up some of that alcohol with some carbs. But when a beer garden with solid food comes around, we realize what we were missing. Wirtshaus is one of those spots. It’s somewhat sleepy, but the modern German food is way better than you’d expect.
