Even though Rose Indian Cuisine is one of the best Indian restaurants in the city, it’s still blissfully walk-in friendly. For a spot that serves food this good in portions generous enough to spur debates over who has the stomach space to finish the last bite, we’d expect to be glued to a reservation app. But most of the time, you’ll always walk in to find a free table among regulars who know the staff by name and don’t even need to crack open a menu. Confidently copy them and load up your pristine white table with North Indian staples like butter chicken, palak dal, and any of the curries. And don’t overlook the complimentary papadum with a trio of sauces that we’d be happy to pay for. This spot deserves a regular slot in your rotation for an easy weekday dinner—just keep in mind that most tables fit four people at most, so keep any group hangs on the smaller side and have some room ready in the fridge. Also note that halal meats are available.
