In the travel business the words “South Beach” generally refer to South Florida, for this one we travel all the way to South Africa. The place is Cape Town, specifically the upscale coastal suburb of Camps Bay, where South Beach Camps Bay Hotel presides over a couple of famous beaches and an extraordinary view of the waters of the South Atlantic. The flip side of the full kitchen is that there’s no restaurant; however, not only are you a few minutes’ walk from the beach, you’re even closer to the restaurants on Victoria Road. Closer still is the hotel’s own rooftop pool, which is open to guests only, and is thus a truly tranquil escape. And you’re by no means confined to Camps Bay for the duration of your stay — South Beach’s concierge can arrange anything from day cruises to multi-day safaris.
