Save this spot for a fancy date night or fly solo at the bar to soak in some peace and quiet. With just a handful of tables, this tiny, literally underground restaurant is the definition of intimate dining. Nearly everything on the menu is raw, a rarity in Cleveland even among sushi-centric spots. Fish arrives from Japan multiple times a week to be served up as no-frills classics (like hamachi nigiri and tobiko gunkan) and maximalist specialty rolls like The Dante, a five-ingredient goliath wrapped in salmon and hamachi. If there’s a type of sushi you’ve wanted to try but haven’t found elsewhere in the area—including surf clams and pickled burdock root—this is the place to do it.
