We can’t walk past this Marylebone cafe without feeling an intense urge to go inside and redesign our entire home to match Abuelo’s gorgeous interiors. Beautiful dark wood and chrome fittings aside, the food at this popular spot is for anyone who spends a significant amount of time in the fancy crackers section of Waitrose and refers to organic milk as an “investment”. Dishes go between an easy assembly job (cc the literal ‘bit of everything plate’) that you can skip, and homely breakfasts like a Spanish tortilla topped with caramelised onions, spicy mayo, and fresh labneh that’s worth an order. But the real pull here is the room. So drink a salted vanilla cream matcha and eat a carrot cake that’s as pretty as the interiors, and take plenty of snaps in the process.
