Onsen is one of the most unique dinner spots in SF. The Tenderloin spot is technically a Japanese bathhouse first, with a serene spa featuring a communal hot tub, sauna, and a steam room. After a two-hour soak, you can head to the dining area for a three-course dinner from a rotating lineup of pop-ups like Dostee, where we had buttery yellowtail crudo and caramelized pork belly skewers. While you can skip the bathhouse, we suggest fully committing to the soak-meal combo for special date nights or any time you want to lock your phone up and spend some time getting pruny in a redwood sauna.
