Glades Club is technically a members-only club, but becoming a member is as easy as handing the bartender $5 and saying, “I would like to become a member, please.” Do that, and you’ll receive a plastic card that guarantees you future entry with one guest. If you’re a dive bar person, it’s worth the small hassle—this is an excellent one. The small building, which looks closed but is open every day starting at 11am, is located between Homestead farms and a 14-foot python skin hangs over the entrance. Come early and there’ll probably be a few regulars sitting at the bar, shooting pool, or enjoying the lack of natural sunlight at the bar. If you do want to be reminded what time it is, step into their backyard, where they host live music and karaoke at night.
