Sinks Canyon State Park is a 600-acre park in the Wind River Mountains, 7 miles from Lander, WY. The park offers camping, hiking, fishing, and world class rock climbing. The visitor center is open Memorial day-Labor day. Sinks Canyon is named for a unique feature found within the park. The Middle Fork of the Popo Agie river flows through the canyon and suddenly disappears into the limestone cavern in a area called the Sinks. The river then reappears 1/4 mile down the road at the Rise.
