There are a few locations of Souvlaki GR, and the one in Midtown East is in a basement on 53rd Street. And despite the fact that it’s in a small, windowless space in the bottom of a building, it still manages to feel like something you’d find on a Greek island. Stop by for a quick sit-down lunch, or just pick up a pita stuffed with meat and vegetables. The Greek food here is great, and (possibly due to the fact that it’s semi-hidden) this place doesn’t get as busy as it should.
