I enjoyed this quick stop. Loved the history behind the Ramses II statue and other items at the location. I felt it is worth my time.

その名の通りアラバスター（雪花石膏せっかせっこう）でできた「アラバスター スフィンクス」です。 アラバスターとは細かい結晶が集まってできた白色半透明の塊状の石膏であり、現在でも軟らかくて粘りが強いため彫刻材として利用されているそうですよ。 その「アラバスター」は古代エジプトにおいては王侯・貴族専用に使われた石で大変貴重なものだったらしいです。 「メンフィス博物館」に展示されてあり、スフィンクスの彫
