If you need to go out and dance on the Lower East Side, Home Sweet Home is, at this point, a classic option. It’s a bar in a basement on Christie Street, and about half the space is taken up by a little dance floor with a disco ball. You can come here and dance pretty much every night - but we especially like it on Friday, when (from 10:30pm to 4am) they host a 50’s and 60’s dance party that draws a highly enthusiastic crowd. The drinks are cheap, there’s taxidermy everywhere, and everyone dances.
