It all began with family, and continues today with family. The original Doughboys opened up as a military surplus store in 1947 on the same block where it still is today. It started by former WWII army medic Harry Frankel and his brother Irv Frankel who was a veteran of WWII. Harry’s son, Mark Frankel, joined the family business in 1979 and then formally took over the shop in 2004.  Our Bellflower store is well-known for its vast selection of utility work clothes.
