Like the other Thumbs Up venues around the city, the East Point spot nails the laid-back, neighborhood diner energy. It’s full of natural light, has plenty of bar seating, and offers the kind of friendly, no-rush service that makes it easy to settle in. It doesn’t quite match the consistency of the original Old Fourth Ward location. But classics like The Skillet Heap—with its mound of heavily seasoned potato hash loaded with toppings and two eggs any style— are reliably good. And it still draws families, locals, and friend groups looking for a solid way to start the day. It’s especially busy on weekends and works great for lazy mornings or a filling post-flight brunch when you want comfort food in a casual, familiar space.
