Degthai, a fast-casual Thai spot on Nolensville Pike, is one of our favorite takeout operations in the city. This is where you can get your hands on deliciously flaky spring rolls, delightfully creamy shrimp pad thai, and other excellent Thai street food. The space is big and boxy, and always filled to the brim with people trying to vulture a table. This is mainly why we like it as a grab-and-go option—so we can eat our chicken stir fry topped with zingy Thai cucumber salad in peace. The servings here are generous and pretty much every entree can feed two people (like you, mountain of fried rice). The curries can be a bit underwhelming, but there’s plenty else on the menu to spend your time on. You can choose the spice level for most of the main dishes, ranging from mild to—and we quote—assfire. Sometimes, names are misnomers. This is not one of those times. Go with the medium. And maybe have some chocolate milk nearby.
