Legion Lake Lodge, established in 1913 and rebuilt in 2016, is situated on the shore of Legion Lake within Custer State Park. The lodge offers 26 cabins, some featuring kitchens and lake views. Amenities include a limited-service restaurant, convenience and gift shop, and boat and water sport rentals. Guests can enjoy activities such as fishing, swimming, and hiking on the easy 1-mile trail around the lake.

It feels like a less crowded version of the more popular Sylvan Lake. The kayak rentals are open from 10am to 5pm ,do a half hour or up to 3 hours (rentals close during storms). People were enjoying .
I have 4 young kids and as a family of 6, the Pike Cabin was perfect. We stayed for 6 nights and didnt want to leave. The cabin is newly updated, clean and they restock whatever you need (toilet paper
Our Pike cabin was beautifully situated overlooking the lake, and just a walk down the hill to the beach, which was a pleasant surprise that made our four nights in the park surpass all expectations.
