Café Bar Pilotů feels like you’ve just walked into the domain of someone much cooler than the rest of us. On one side of the high-ceilinged space, there’s a wall crammed with framed posters of Frank Sinatra, Tom Waits, James Brown, and Nick Cave, and on another side, there are shelves of booze bottles and books. Worn in armchairs beckon, and so does the long bar where bartenders shake up cocktails, some infused with humor, such as the Vietnamská Večerka, or Vietnamese Nightshop, a reference to the many late-night Vietnamese-owned corner shops that sell a little bit of everything. Use Pilotů as an excuse to further explore Vršovice, a neighborhood that’s become one of the hipper spots for young locals to hang out.
