When we first started writing about Nashville, we had to do some persuading — so thoroughly did cities like New York and Los Angeles dominate the travel discussion. Today, however, the secret is out, and Nashville is recognized as a top-notch travel destination. Impressive boutique hotels are sprouting like wildflowers, and in this famously gregarious town, they don’t mind being on a first-name basis: a place called Bobby Hotel is clearly presenting a casual, approachable face to the world, even as it aims to provide an impeccably stylish and luxurious experience. On all counts, it delivers. The rooms are suffused with a certain mid-century swankiness, though you couldn’t call the style minimalist — murals and graphics pay tribute to Music City, and the warm colors and touchable textures make them difficult to leave. But in a hotel like this, the rooms are only part of the story — even more so in Nashville, a city that’s known for its nightlife. Bobby has plenty to offer in this department, from the twin restaurants, the Café and the Tavern, to the ground-floor Garage bar and the open-air Rooftop Lounge — all this, plus a full-service spa to help get you ready to do it all over again the next night.
