About
The Dahlonega Gold Museum Historic Site is a Georgia state historic site located in Dahlonega that commemorates America's first gold rush and the mining history of Lumpkin County. The museum is housed in the historic Old Lumpkin County Courthouse built in 1836 and located in the center of the town square. It is the oldest surviving county courthouse in the state.

Really enjoyed the museum - the film was very interesting and getting to see the gold built into the brick wall was too The volunteers can be a little clingy so that lets the experience down. Instead
Placed a tent for a fascist politician up during a cultural event. It was tacky and divisive. The people manning the tent were extremely rude to all the festival goers.
Overall, nice history and venue. But, way over priced for the fee to walk through. Film was interesting, but beyond that, it's a quick walk through and little more. No handicap access to second floor.
