Peter Pan, the fictional character, wasn’t a fan of aging. But Peter Pan, the Fort Lauderdale diner, has matured wonderfully since it opened in 1979. It’s still a shining example of an American diner, with wood-paneled walls, servers you just want to hug, and a long menu that covers the diner spectrum of breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Come early for affordable combinations of eggs any way you can think of, crisp bacon, and home fries. (There are also Greek dishes like gyros, souvlaki, and moussaka for lunch.) Peter Pan stays open nightly until 11pm—and has a full liquor bar—so keep it in mind for a late-night dinner, too.
