The Museum of Old and New Art (MONA) is an art museum located within the Moorilla winery on the Berriedale peninsula in Hobart, Tasmania, Australia. It is the largest privately funded museum in Australia. The museum presents antiquities, modern and contemporary art from the David Walsh collection. Walsh has described the museum as a "subversive adult Disneyland." MONA was officially opened on 21 January 2011.

Ok so I wouldn’t call it ART.. it’s definitely impressive but parts are quite warped and dark. Very weird place. Nothing to really tell you what you’re looking at or why it’s there. Gift shop BERY exp
We visited MONA in mid-March 2026 and arrived just after it opened at 10am. Getting there early makes it much easier to explore, as the museum can get very busy later in the day. MONA is ultra-modern.
Love, Love, Love. Many reviews have criticized this museum for being too out there. But that's what it's all about. The installations are set to challenge, be thought provoking and like no other museu
