This Mediterranean restaurant, and sister spot to Bistro Don Giovanni, combines the buzz of a bustling New York bar with southern Italian-inspired dishes that are worth slowing down for. This energetic place strikes a nice balance between upscale and casual, with a long dining room flanked by a wall-sized map, tiled bar, and mirrors. There’s additional seating upstairs if you’d rather eat ravioli al limone and an entire tre scalini pizza to yourself with fewer witnesses (so we hear). Wherever you sit, it’s fine to get crumbs on the table, double dip into the anchovy butter, and push past the point of fullness for the of the cacio e pepe. Just don’t miss the fresh donuts with crème anglaise (Zeppole on the menu), and the no-notes perfection that is the panna cotta.
