You could throw a dart at a map of the island, blindfolded, and it would hit a place serving frozen desserts. And while there’s no shortage of shave ice spots, few have nailed the elusive fine texture like Ululani’s. The Maui transplant, which also has expanded to the mainland, is performing sorcery on blocks of ice. Each tightly packed mound is creamy, thoroughly saturated with syrup, and feels like you’re eating spoonfuls of a wispy cartoon cloud.
