Astoria has several buffet-style Brazilian restaurants, and we’ve had great meals at Point Brazil and Villa Brazil Café Grill when in need of a pile of homestyle food after a long day. But the top spot goes to Rio Market. Attached to a small grocery store, this buffet and churrascaria looks like any other fluorescent-lit hot bar, but the salad set-up is something we’d expect to see at a tropical wedding. Stop by the bbq window first to order juicy picanha and linguiça by the pound, then fill your plate with ancho-spiced tuna ceviche, chopped salads with hearts of palm, and chicken salad with shoestring potatoes while you wait in the dining area. Afterwards, you can choose from around 20 different brands of frozen pao de queijo to take home.
