Heaton Middle School is a National Demonstration School by AVID officials. Of the 6000 AVID schools nation-wide, only 170 schools have this designation. We join an elite group of schools nationwide to obtain this honor. As an AVID school, we were selected because we have imple­mented the AVID Systems throughout the school to help students, and we can serve as a model to other schools. AVID strategies are the core of how we prepare students for the rigors of high school and college every day!
