As the name suggests, this Marietta spot is obsessed with bagels. But the NYC-style deli also serves delicious breakfast plates, giant sandwiches, and matzo ball soup every day of the week. It works for a quick bagel run if you’re in a rush, but we like to linger in the dining room lined with New York sports team paraphernalia and dive into a pile of crispy home fries. Almost everyone here is the type of long-time regular you only see in sitcoms—they’re on a first-name basis with servers who have their order memorized. There’s no sign that this is a cash-only spot, and your server doesn’t mention it. An ancient cash register that was manufactured before Jimmy Carter became governor of Georgia cranks and dings every few seconds as an endless parade of bagel lovers walk away with brown bags. The small-town charm hums alongside the sounds of a diner constantly in motion. Even if you’re a first-timer, a visit here feels homey. Their bagels are as close to perfect as you can get, with just the right amount of chewiness and a perfectly puffy interior, and almost every dish comes with one. And while they’re the reason most people come here, the other tasty breakfast dishes (like a giant portion of scrambled eggs with bits of pastrami) are worthy enough to start your morning with, too.
