In a city as compact as Burlington, most of the restaurants are in the clearly defined downtown zone, but Majestic is one of the few rare neighborhood spots. Being set apart is part of the feel—Majestic doesn’t have a website, barely has an Instagram, and is only open Monday through Friday. You’re eating in an old car rental business, and being here is kind of like hanging out at a cool friend’s crashpad, where one of the walls is a garage door that opens up and records play through vintage Klipsch speakers. Lowkey vibe and tiny kitchen aside, a lot of thought goes into the food. Small(ish) plates made for snacking and sharing take cues from the seasons, like panzanella and street corn succotash with peak tomatoes and sweet corn. Heartier portions are available, but you’ll more frequently find us posted up in our preferred counter seats by the window with a couple glasses of wine and an order of the patatas bravas.
