Augmented reality darts—yes, it was just a matter of time in this city—are the main draw at Golden Eye Social. Think of it as a cross between bowling, Top Golf, and traditional darts. The spacious SoMa bar and restaurant has six lanes where you can throw real darts at a board of projected animations while playing mini-games involving moving targets and even a little virtual murder. The novelty alone is worth a visit, but the food—mostly shareable dishes perfect for fueling up between rounds—is also solid. Stick with the caramelized onion-topped burger and pork belly sliders with kimchi, plus extra stiff cocktails to wash it all down. It’s an easy place to host a team bonding event, or have a date with someone who takes their Volo league a little too seriously. Certain lanes can be booked for around $50 to $66 for at least 75 minutes with enough room for parties of up to 10. But the best way to do things here is to go during the daily “Golden Hour”: from 4-5pm, walk-in lanes are free and drink and food specials go until 6pm.
