A cute neighborhood house turned restaurant in Allandale, the all-day-cafe Epicerie serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner Monday through Saturday (closed Tuesday). There's also brunch on Sundays (with fantastic baked goods like croissants on weekends). Walk-in only, it's great for a healthy-ish dinner with a bottle of wine, or a low-key brunch on the outdoor patio. The menu veers French by way of Louisiana, and our go-to is the shrimp po’boy, the gnocchi, or the quiche. No matter what you do, get the fried-to-order beignets for dessert, and a chocolate chip cookie or two for the road.
