Visit Tandoor Char House when you want a slightly more upscale experience than what you’ll get at nearby Mild 2 Spicy. This Lincoln Park spot is elevated both figuratively and literally—from the need for reservations, attentive service, and heavy black tablecloths to the fact that the small dining room is actually elevated—with only eight tables overlooking the entrance of the restaurant. There’s a long menu of classic Pakistani and North Indian dishes (mostly tandoor entrees and karahi) done well, but the most interesting things to try are the specialty fusion dishes, like the tandoor chicken empanada, tamarind wings, and tikka masala tacos.
