It’s become more and more common these days to order a $20 mocktail and end up just drinking juice. But at Soft Bar, a nonalcoholic bar in Greenpoint opened by Summer House’s Carl Radke, you can pick from 10 mocktails (ranging from $12-$16) that all look and taste like real cocktails you’d get at a fancy bar, just without any actual booze. Anywhere else, getting five drinks with a friend would be a weeknight hazard. Here, it's just relaxing. Those drinks range from bitter and fizzy, to sweet and creamy. Try the Tonka Noir, their version of an espresso martini, or—if you're looking for a fun, summery vibe—go for the Shine On, a tropical drink with an N/A champagne rosé base and a tropical punch popsicle floating in it. The cavernous space looks as if Anthropologie decorated a warehouse, with lots of gray marble, dusty paint tones, and untzy music playing at the perfect volume so you can still hear what your friend is saying. It's a chill setting for camping out at the bar with a book after work, or getting some work done in the morning—they open at 7am and serve coffee drinks and pastries.
