The Albany Institute of History& Art is a museum in Albany, New York, United States, "dedicated to collecting, preserving, interpreting and promoting interest in the history, art, and culture of Albany and the Upper Hudson Valley region". It is located on Washington Avenue in downtown Albany. Founded in 1791, it is among the oldest museums in the United States. Several other institutions have merged over time to become today's Albany Institute.

The Hudson River School of paintings is a rare sight. On would think they would need to go to NYC or Chicago to see such a collection. What a prize to have it in Albany. Another collection moved me:No
Small museum but great collection of Hudson Valley School artists. The marble gallery is also great. We didn't care for the current contemporary artist but some might really love the pop art exhibit.
