While you may understandably be drawn into the florist/studio of Marigold’s on the corner of 21st and York, walk just a little further down York and you’ll find another door to the attached Marigold Cafe. The tiny coffee shop on a quiet stretch of the Mission is where to be when you need a moment to yourself and a drink that indexes high on caffeine. There’s no wifi, no music, and a simple menu of espressos, drip, and lattes. Go for an iced matcha latte and enjoy a moment of silence and (hopefully) not staring at a screen. There’s only one table inside, but a few two-tops on the sidewalk that are usually free. Just note that the shop may close around noon while the staff takes a lunch break, so plan accordingly.
