Endo, Upstairs at Annabel’s does exactly what it says on the tin. It’s Endo—of Endo at the Rotunda fame—doing an omakase pop-up inside Annabel’s, a Mayfair members’ club so committed to glamour that men have to wear jackets after 6pm and even the thought of taking a photo is (probably) grounds for exile. It sounds like it should be insufferable. Instead, it’s one of the most fun meals we’ve had in a while. Nothing is rushed, but time still disappears somewhere between the oyster (silky smooth) and the tuna. Endo works the room like a comedian with a knife set: cracking jokes and calling people out. Suddenly you’re chatting across the counter, to the servers, to Endo, and to the diners next to you. You’ll overhear chat about cigars and casual month-long stints in the Caribbean—you’re in Mayfair, after all. But there isn’t the air of stiffness that sometimes comes with this overly polished crowd. The room is calm, all woods and neutrals—an elegant palate cleanser compared to Annabel’s maximalist fever dream of monkey-print carpets and patterned everything. And every bite hits: pristine chutoro and otoro, a perfect scallop, a morel dish with a potato farmer origin story, and a soufflé so light it might legally count as air. This feels like a once-in-a-lifetime meal. Sixteen courses, an 11:30pm finish on a Tuesday night, and around £300 later, we found ourselves wishing there was still more to go. The pop-up is expected to operate until mid-July 2026.
