Hickory Knob State Resort Park is a state park located on the shores of Lake Strom Thurmond near the town of McCormick in McCormick County, South Carolina. It is the only resort park in the South Carolina State Park system.

Gorgeous state park and campground! Spent the weekend here with friends and will definitely be back. The campsites are right on the water for the most part and lots of great trail options.
If you want to get in the lake for a swim , access to the lake is muddy. Campsites are small. Interior roads are rocky and narrow. We have been to quite a few SC state parks and this is the worst.
